BPA exposure in infants and food sensitivities

BPA is found in plastics, receipts, and lining a lot of food cans.  Not only may it lead to food sensitivities later in life, but is also hormonally active and may lead to certain cancers, and may also have a role in obesity because if functions as an obesogen.

Make sure your baby’s bottles and food containers are BPA free.  Never microwave in or eat anything hot from from plastic or styrofoam containers.  Also, don’t let your children hold on to grocery or other sales receipts.  If you have more questions, Naturopathic medicine can help.  Contact your Naturopathic Doctor for more information on how to avoid this toxin, and how to remove it from your body so you don’t pass it on to your children.  We have locations in Sacramento and Pleasanton, California.

“Scientists show, for the first time, that there is a link between perinatal exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) at low doses and the risk to develop food intolerance in later life. “We may look back one day and see BPA exposure as one of the more important public health problems of our time,” said one expert. ‘We know that too much exposure is bad, but exactly how much exposure is too much is still up for debate.'”  [Reference]
