Chemicals found in plastics are linked to Autism spectrum disorders. New research released today has definitively shown an association between phthalate exposures and Autism. Phthalates come from plastics, so never microwave your food in plastic, and don’t drink out of plastic water bottles because you can cause neurological and endocrine problems. Use stainless steel or glass bottles. Most importantly, please do not warm up your baby’s milk or formula in plastic, as you are giving them a big dose of phthalates to their little bodies, and adding to their risk of developing autism. Protect your family, and avoid ingesting pthlalates like DEHP and BPA.
At Human Reconstruction, we can help you make healthy choices, as well as aid in the removal of these dangerous chemicals from your body.
“Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a complex group of neurodevelopment disorders, still poorly understood, steadily rising in frequency, and treatment-refractory. Extensive research has been so far unable to explain the aetiology of this condition, whereas a growing body of evidence suggests the involvement of environmental factors. Phthalates, given their extensive use and their persistence, are ubiquitous environmental contaminants. They are endocrine-disrupting chemicals suspected to interfere with neurodevelopment. . .The fully oxidised form 5-oxo-MEHP showed 91.1% specificity in identifying patients with ASDs. Our findings, demonstrate for the first time an association between phthalates exposure and ASDs, thus suggesting a previously unrecognized role for these ubiquitous environmental contaminants in the pathogenesis of autism.” - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22537663
